The Popcorn Experiment

Today was a blustery day. So, we decided to make popcorn.
Our electricity went out so we made it on the fireplace. Shane made a fire and we took a pot of popcorn and put it on the fire. The pot burned, so did a lot of the popcorn.
Shane set it on our rug in front of our fireplace and the rug melted.
It printed the Christmas tree on the bottom of the pot. That's what the picture is. It melted a circle on our rug, too. That was quite an experience.

Making Scallop Potatos

Today Mom and I made scallop potatos.
I washed the potatos and Mom sliced them.

Then I greased the crockpot.

I cut up pieces of ham.

Here is potatos, ham, onions, seasoned flour and bacon.

Next we layered the ingredients into the crockpot. First came the onions, then the potatos.

Next we sprinkled the flour on then the bacon and ham.
Then we dotted it with butter.

Then we kept repeating these layers until the ingredients were all used up.

Finally we poured in some half and half.

Then we let it cook all day. We put cheese on top and had salad with it.

Dad said it was great and awesome and every bite hit the spot!

December 7th we had a Christmas play at church. We did the skit on The Three Trees. I was in a choir with Eva, Grace, Alexis, Gillian, and Acacia. Chelsea lead our choir. We sang To us a Child of Hope is Born and Silent Night, Holy Night, Peaceful Night Long Ago.
Later, during the skit, Kyle and Gabrielle acted out Mary and Joseph. It was so cute. I think the best part of the whole show was the mob that crucified Jesus. Franklin was Jesus. The other ones in the mob were Brother Darren and Sister Dessare, and Brother Brett. Me and Acacia were cheering Dessare on. I absolutly loved that part.

I made this blanket for Dad. I started crocheting it for Christmas in 2008, but did not finish it till this year. I was so excited. I was really proud of myself, too. Hope you like the pictures. Please leave me a comment.

Thanksgiving

Wednesday, Amanda came out from Oregan. I was really excited to see her. I didn't really know her that much. It was fun to get to know her a little bit. Me, Felecia, and my mom went to go pick up Shane from school. My mom kept forgetting. We went out to eat at Chipotle. Then, we went and picked up Shane. Then, we went shopping.

The next day, for Thanksgiving, she came over. Also, the Gallagher's, Aunt Sherry, Amber, and Anthony, Uncle and Uncle Lance, James and Joy, and Brother Richard. It was a lot of fun. We played games, visited, ate, and did different things.

That evening me, Eva, Grace, and Amanda did a skit. Amanda planned the entire skit. And dressed me up as an Indian. She dressed Grace up as a turkey. And Eva was a Pilgrim or something. She gave Eva Shane's fake gun, and asked my dad for my red bow without the arrow. Amanda was the narrator. Me and Eva pretended to shoot the turkey. Then Anthony carried a table and to chairs for us to sit on. Then, me and Eva carried the real platter of turkey onto the table and pretended to cut and eat it.

After that we went Christmas caroling. We sang Silent Night, and Little Drummer Boy and others.

The next day me, my mom, Felecia, Shane, Chelsea, Amanda, Aunt Sherry, Amber, and Anthony went to Apple Hill. We went to some of the shops and candy stores.

After that we went to Placerville and looked in some of the shops there.

Then we went home and ate. We ate turkey sandwiches and other leftovers from Thursday.

Pictures of my Skirt and Update

Last Monday I had my sewing class. I made a baby blanket. We cut squares out of different colored materials. There are pink, green, blue, and purple. And one has different colored flowers in it. I separated them so they look more nice. Then we sewed them together one by one. I really like the class.
I am still reading Little House series. I just finished By the Shores of Silver Lake. I am going on to The Long Winter. I want to read it with my mom. I haven't read it yet. I thought it would be fun to read it in the winter since it's a true winter story.

Tonight Anthony called. I didn't get to talk to him. Maybe next time.
Aunt Amanda is coming out from Oregon the day before Thanksgiving. I am really looking forward to it.

P.S. Here are the pictures of the skirt I made that I said I was going to post.

How Big is God and What He Has Done for Me

"In everything give thanks for this is the will of Christ Jesus concerning you."

Be Thankful!

Have you ever thought about how big God is? In my opinion I think he's bigger than what we can imagine. Nobody really knows.

What has he done for you?

1. He saved and sanctified me.
2. He gave me a good family.
3. He is always there when I need him.
4. He's always there in the toughest situation.
5. When we are weak, he is strong.
6. When we are feeling lonely, he is with us.
7. When we are sick, he will heal us.
8. When we are in danger, he will protect us.
When I fall, I will arise.
My favorite one is bold faced.

What I've Been Up To

I am taking a sewing class right now. A couple weeks ago I made pajama pants. They are blue with giraffes and flowers on them. My teacher told me it was cute. We cut out how much material we need. Then we fold it over and measure one inch. Then we put a strait pin in it. Then we sew the inside of the material. We also put a band inside the waist part. It was fun when I first got to wear them. I made a skirt last week. We did about the same thing. I measured and cut out the material and sewed a band in the waist. And I surged the bottom. I will post pix of the skirt later. I am going to make cloth napkins this Monday.

My Aunt Tammy and Uncle Tim came out here from Utah with their son Alex, his sister Brooke, and her kids for a visit. We had her over on Monday with Uncle Duane, Aunt Ami, my cousin Brittiny and her kids, Aunt Sherry, Amber, Rebekah, and Franklin. I got to see Brooke's baby for the first time. It's her first girl. Her name is Alyssa. I got to hold her, too.
For dinner we had potato soup and garlic bread.
We had a good time!
