Thanksgiving

Wednesday, Amanda came out from Oregan. I was really excited to see her. I didn't really know her that much. It was fun to get to know her a little bit. Me, Felecia, and my mom went to go pick up Shane from school. My mom kept forgetting. We went out to eat at Chipotle. Then, we went and picked up Shane. Then, we went shopping.

The next day, for Thanksgiving, she came over. Also, the Gallagher's, Aunt Sherry, Amber, and Anthony, Uncle and Uncle Lance, James and Joy, and Brother Richard. It was a lot of fun. We played games, visited, ate, and did different things.

That evening me, Eva, Grace, and Amanda did a skit. Amanda planned the entire skit. And dressed me up as an Indian. She dressed Grace up as a turkey. And Eva was a Pilgrim or something. She gave Eva Shane's fake gun, and asked my dad for my red bow without the arrow. Amanda was the narrator. Me and Eva pretended to shoot the turkey. Then Anthony carried a table and to chairs for us to sit on. Then, me and Eva carried the real platter of turkey onto the table and pretended to cut and eat it.

After that we went Christmas caroling. We sang Silent Night, and Little Drummer Boy and others.

The next day me, my mom, Felecia, Shane, Chelsea, Amanda, Aunt Sherry, Amber, and Anthony went to Apple Hill. We went to some of the shops and candy stores.

After that we went to Placerville and looked in some of the shops there.

Then we went home and ate. We ate turkey sandwiches and other leftovers from Thursday.

Pictures of my Skirt and Update

Last Monday I had my sewing class. I made a baby blanket. We cut squares out of different colored materials. There are pink, green, blue, and purple. And one has different colored flowers in it. I separated them so they look more nice. Then we sewed them together one by one. I really like the class.
I am still reading Little House series. I just finished By the Shores of Silver Lake. I am going on to The Long Winter. I want to read it with my mom. I haven't read it yet. I thought it would be fun to read it in the winter since it's a true winter story.

Tonight Anthony called. I didn't get to talk to him. Maybe next time.
Aunt Amanda is coming out from Oregon the day before Thanksgiving. I am really looking forward to it.

P.S. Here are the pictures of the skirt I made that I said I was going to post.

How Big is God and What He Has Done for Me

"In everything give thanks for this is the will of Christ Jesus concerning you."

Be Thankful!

Have you ever thought about how big God is? In my opinion I think he's bigger than what we can imagine. Nobody really knows.

What has he done for you?

1. He saved and sanctified me.
2. He gave me a good family.
3. He is always there when I need him.
4. He's always there in the toughest situation.
5. When we are weak, he is strong.
6. When we are feeling lonely, he is with us.
7. When we are sick, he will heal us.
8. When we are in danger, he will protect us.
When I fall, I will arise.
My favorite one is bold faced.

What I've Been Up To

I am taking a sewing class right now. A couple weeks ago I made pajama pants. They are blue with giraffes and flowers on them. My teacher told me it was cute. We cut out how much material we need. Then we fold it over and measure one inch. Then we put a strait pin in it. Then we sew the inside of the material. We also put a band inside the waist part. It was fun when I first got to wear them. I made a skirt last week. We did about the same thing. I measured and cut out the material and sewed a band in the waist. And I surged the bottom. I will post pix of the skirt later. I am going to make cloth napkins this Monday.

My Aunt Tammy and Uncle Tim came out here from Utah with their son Alex, his sister Brooke, and her kids for a visit. We had her over on Monday with Uncle Duane, Aunt Ami, my cousin Brittiny and her kids, Aunt Sherry, Amber, Rebekah, and Franklin. I got to see Brooke's baby for the first time. It's her first girl. Her name is Alyssa. I got to hold her, too.
For dinner we had potato soup and garlic bread.
We had a good time!

My 14th Birthday

Saturday was my 14TH birthday. Aunt Sherry had a party for me at her house. I spent all day with her. I helped her blow up balloons and hang them up. I also helped her organize some things in her room and I helped her with dinner. We made my mom's chicken enchiladas. I shredded cheese and I helped her cut bell peppers.
Mom made me a cheesecake with whipped cream and strawberries! :)
Later, my family came over and also the G- family and the W- family. They surprised me. I knew Sister Glenda was coming, but I didn't know the whole family was coming.

For my birthday, the G- family gave me stationary. Eva made me a really nice card. They also gave me a notepad. My friend Hallie, their neighbor made me a card and sent it with them.

The W- family gave me a card and a gel-pen kit. It had two small notepads. One had all pink pages and the other had different colored paper. It also had stickers and some other art stuff.
Aunt Sherry got me a sewing box.

Earlier, I got to talk on the phone to my Grandparents on my mom's side. I had talked to my Grandma a lot on the phone, before, but it had been years since I had talked to my Grandpa.

The next day I got a palm pilot reminder from Brother Richard. You can put things in it to save or to remind you about.

It was a nice birthday!

Things I've Been Doing In School

Wednesday, September 9, 2009, me and my classmates from history class went on a field trip to the Rocklin history museum. We went into a museum and a man guided us through it. We saw a lot of old fashion things. After that, we went and saw the grinding rocks, and a spring. After that, me and dad went and got a soft-serve.

Yesterday, I had my first sewing class. My teacher was really nice. There were a couple other kids in the class, too. It was really easy and fun. It was fast, too. Next week, we're going to make pajama pants. I HAD A GOOD TIME!

I am learning mandolin right now. My dad is teaching me. We both have our own so we can play together. Dad surprised me when he brought me home the mandolin. I enjoy music very much. I can also play kazoo, piano, keyboard, and violin a little. I also enjoy singing.

Making Stuffed Cabbage

Yesterday, Felecia, my mom, and I made stuffed cabbage. It was my first time I've ever made it. We mixed hamburger, eggs, rice, onions, and seasonings together in a large bowl. Then we boiled the cabbage leaves to make them soft. Mom added vinegar to the boiling water. Next we rolled the hamburger mixture into the cabbage leaves. We put all the cabbage rolls in a big pot and poured the boiling water over it and cooked them. After that we took them out of the water and my mom fried them. I made corn bread muffins. Felecia helped a little bit but I mostly did it myself. I really enjoyed cooking.
Felecia said it smelled like St. Patricks Day because we eat these then. We shared our dinner with Aunt Sherry and Amber. We sent some home for Chris and the Wilborns.

What I've Been Up To

Last Monday I started school. I am doing 4th grade right now. My favorite subject is Language Arts. I am also going to take some extra classes: Speech, Life Skills, History and Sewing. Right now, I am working on crocheting a present for dad. I am also reading The Little House on the Prairie series. I am in "By the Shores of Silver Lake". My sister helped me scrapbook not too long ago. We scrapbooked some pages on my birthday last year when I turned 13 and when our black lab had her puppies this last spring.

My favorite activity this summer was when we went camping at Bodega Bay. There were a lot of people from church. Some of my friends and I climbed on the jetties. My friend Alexis and I squished jellyfish with paddles and threw them in the ocean. We also did a sand castle contest. Some of the girls and I made a sea otter with a baby and we put a halo of flowers on the mom. Our sandcastle won with two others! Hope you like the pictures.

Me, Alexis, Eva & Grace singing around the campfire with everyone.
